Frequently asked questions
I’ve gathered the most common questions clients ask, from preparation to aftercare and everything in between. My goal is to provide clear, helpful information so you can approach your tattoo session with excitement and peace of mind.
Can I use numbing cream?
I recommend not using numbing creams. Numbing creams can affect your healing process. For long sessions, numbing cream can wear off and cause more irritation as your body has not adjusted to the pain. If you do choose to use it, you will have to provide that on your own. Please test the cream prior to our appointment and notify me that you plan to use one. I do have topical spray bactine that we can use to alleviate discomfort.
Do you tattoo minors?
Yes, I tattoo minors 16 and older. Per Colorado law, minors need signed parent's permission. Both minor and parent need identification linking the relationship (same last names on licenses and/or birth certificate). The minor's parental guardian must be present during the entire tattoo.
Can we have a silent session?
Of course! I am happy to converse with you or we can do a silent session. Whatever feels most comfortable for you.
What is your policy on touch ups?
I offer one free touch-up within the first year. For parts of the body that have a higher prevalence of fall out (hands, feet, elbows), we will discuss touch-ups on a case-by-case basis.
Can I tip?
Yes! Tipping is always appreciated but never expected.
Do you do cover-ups/reworks?
These types of projects are on a case by case basis. I typically need to see the tattoo first to determine what options we have.
How many adjustments can I make?
I am happy to make minor adjustments to your design, however a full rework design will incur an extra charge.
How far out do you book?
I typically book out three months in advance.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
I recommend preparing for your tattoo appointment by drinking lots of water and moisturizing the area a week prior to the tattoo to help prepare your skin for ink. Please wear clothing that is comfortable and easily accessible to the area being tattooed. Feel free to bring a water bottle and snacks to keep you hydrated and nourished. Sensory tools such as sunglasses, headphones, gum, stress balls, podcasts, and movies can help keep you distracted during the process. You can prepare by taking Tylenol, but not ibuprofen, as ibuprofen is a blood thinner.
What are your tips for proper healing and aftercare?
We will go over aftercare together once your tattoo is finished. There are two main methods of healing: dry healing and second skin bandages. We will discuss the pros and cons of both and see which is right for you. Regardless, you will need antibacterial soap and Aquaphor for the healing of your wound! We do sell aftercare packages at our shop if you would like to purchase aftercare items there.
Are there any specific policies I should know?
Please refer to the Services & Booking tab for my deposit and rescheduling policies, and to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
